Do you like the colour purple? They say in ancient Do you like the colour purple? They say in ancient Rome, purple was the color of royalty, a designator of status. And while purple is flashy and pretty, it was more important at the time that purple was expensive. Purple was expensive, because purple dye came from snails.💜

~
The villa holds a central place in the history of Western architecture. Villas, originally an ancient Roman upper-class country house, have since the Renaissance captivated the masses due to their settings away from the city. While the structure of the villa has changed over time, and their location moved to suburban or even urban houses with garden themes, the core design has remained an architectural expression for learned pursuits and spiritual withdrawal into a domestic retreat from the city.

There should be a saying that goes"you haven't liv There should be a saying that goes"you haven't lived until you have had Montefalco Sagrantino", the red wine that has made Umbria famous around the world.
.
This red wine is so unique in its charisma, essence and mystery. Sagrantino is grown exclusively in Montefalco, a village of ancient Roman foundation, and in the towns of Bevagna, Gualdo Cattaneo, Giano dell’Umbria and Castel Ritaldi.
 .
The residents of Montefalco don't play games with their wine. In the 14th century, in Montefalco, laws were invoked to protect the local sacred wine. On the producers who did not own vineyards, but shared their harvest, the law imposed the same penalty that was imposed on thieves; in the 17th century, the death penalty was applied to those who had cut a vine owned by others.
.
At the time Sagrantino was not sold: it was used only for religious festivals, for family occasions and by priests to officiate the communion. In the words of Rumi, "Either give me more wine or leave me alone."

𝕹𝖊𝖜 𝕭𝖑𝖔𝖌 𝕻𝖔𝖘𝖙 ~ I 𝕹𝖊𝖜 𝕭𝖑𝖔𝖌 𝕻𝖔𝖘𝖙
~
I have watched countless spy movies and have always been baffled by what seems to be an inaccessible career and lifestyle. Spies, thanks to Hollywood, also seem to be loaded with cliches. Take James Bond, the dashingly handsome playboy who happens to be highly intelligent, diabolically independent and sly. And, there is Black Widow, a sexy, beautiful assassin, who also happens to be highly intelligent, fearless, as well as stoic, efficient and cunning. These characters are generally attributed to all spies, making these enigmatic individuals appear more fiction than real.
.
However, during World War II, when the intelligence community was still an all-male domain, several women proved that the world of spies was not a masculine urban legend and that women could also play a vital role in wartime spying. According to Suyin Haynes, in this era, women were thought to be more inconspicuous as spies and capitalized on this perception during the war, carrying out tasks and missions that men were unable to do. In a time when charm and sex were often the only kinds of ammunition given to female spies, Ursula Kuczynski AKA Agent Sonya curved a career in espionage that rivalled her male counterparts. Bellagio is no hidden gem. It's been a coveted tou Bellagio is no hidden gem. It's been a coveted tourist destination for years.
.
By Bellagio I don't mean the luxury Las Vegas hotel-casino but the true Bellagio that is located halfway between the two southernmost branches of lake como, known for its cobbled lanes, elegant buildings and Villa Serbelloni Park, an 18th-century terraced garden with lake views.
.
When in Bellagio, one can't help but be smitten by the waterfront of bobbing boats, the maze of steep stone staircases, red-roofed and green-shuttered buildings. In Roman times, Pliny had one of his favourite villas here.
